Catching up a little

Well I am still behind with the YOJ, but have maanged to cut 3 weeks off the backlog.
I can't believe it is a month since I last posted!

So todays updates are

Week 29 Bronze Beauty

Here is my first ever freeform bangle. Made from brass wire(5mm thick is hard on the hands!), smokey quartz, FW pearl and carnelians.

Week 30 Salsa

Every salsa dancer needs something on her wrist while she dances this hot latino dance. Segemented Sterlng Silver byzantine chainmaille bracelet with Siam Swarovski dangles.

Week 31 Vulcans Forge

I have chosen to represent this as a means of transformation. Vulcan transformed metals into wonderous things...and what is more wonderous than the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. This was also my first attempt at the egg method of oxidising. Sterling silver wire, frame, butterfly and round beads, Swarovski Crystal in Siam and Crystal AB.

Thanks for having a look!!!

OOHHHH I'm Bad

I have been a bit slack in the creating department for the YOJ. Well I have finally got time to get to work and to take photos for the pieces for week 27 and week 28.

Week 27 theme was "flames of passion"...not that happy with my piece which is a sterling silver heart pendant wrapped and using some vintage glass seed beads from the 50's/60's.
Week 28 theme was Phoenix and Dragons

Flames Of Passion
Flames of passion always start small as little embers and then roar to lifeas an all consuming inferno....

Now I know dragons are meant to be big and scary, but there havebeen small ones too. This piece is called "When the white dragon dreams". Sterling silver, Apatite rondels, Opalite rounds, Swarovski AB round frames and 8mm round bead strung on leather.

Thanks for having a look, now I have to get to work on a few more weeks worth of pieces.

Ciao for now!!
